Bantam Live just announced that they had been acquired by Constant Contact, the e-mail marketing company.
We reviewed Bantam Live’s cloud-based social CRM product in October. We thought it was a solid solution for small businesses looking to centralize their Excel-based (and perhaps napkin-based) sales contacts and task lists.
Constant Contact also had positive feelings about the product, paying $15 million for the company (read: its Ruby on Rails platform).
According to the press release, Constant Contact plans to use the Bantam platform to “create a unified repository of data across all channels, including clicks, email opens, survey responses, event participation and social media interactions.”
Current Bantam Live customers get a bonus: they can use the product free of charge until the integration with Constant Contact is completed.
Bantam’s staff will remain based in their SoHo office’s in New York City
