The Hatchery is perhaps better known for their monthly “Are you serious” events where startups try out their pitches in front of the public with advice coming from a panel of young and old eminences grises. But once a year they run an intense Hatch Match, where startups get to meet one-on-one with investors.
Here’s the set-up. On October 24th, there’ll be one big room in the wood-paneled offices of Chadbourne & Park’s HQ, (located at “30 Rock” in Manhattan) where representatives from about 40 different investment firms will each have their own table. You sign up on a first-come-first-served basis to meet with them, so get there early.
I’ve been told by The Hatchery folks that they won’t turn down a startup, but please be on your best–clean t-shirt, fresh jeans, and a well-honed 5-minute pitch is what you’ll need.
