11-Year Old NJ Girl Gets $300K in Funding

In 2011, I watched 17-year Alex Godin present Dispatch.io at TechCrunch Disrupt’s hackathon. This year at TC Disrupt I heard 18-year old Max Mitchell pitch his video production startup. And then our friends at Kayweb Angels let us know they are funding PicturPass, “a fun, social game application for the next generation”, which was conceptualized by an entrepreneurial 11-year old girl from the Garden State.

Apparently, she heard about angel investing from her parents, and then was inspired to work out her gaming idea. Her parental advisers helped her apply online, and PicturPass was selected from over 150 investments during Kayweb’s Spring investment round.

I’m waiting for the next wave of pitchathons to be held at middle school cafeterias.
