Mutual Force: New Marketplace for Knowledge Transfer

New Jersey-based Mutual Force pinged us the other day about their upcoming beta service that pays former employees for their institutional wisdom. We have been in many, many situations where we left assignments, have good feelings for our old employers, don’t mind answering the occasional email query but, er, would have appreciated a little monetary recognition.

Mutual Force fills in that gap with a way for employees to get compensated for the knowledge exchange, and for the employer to monitor the information flow. Mutual Force founder Mahesh Varavooru told us (via email) that the service supports either a fixed rate for information or a per question charge.

But generally the piecemeal rate works best. All Q&A’s are handled through the Mutual Force platform, which can monitor and enforce maximum delays for an answer. In the works is a plan to make the knowledgebase that is built up searchable–currently employers receive a PDF doc of employee answers.

Also on Mutual Force’s to-do list is a way for ex-employees to respond to questions using a smartphone.
