Rob in San Francisco sent us a link to an interactive, scary, and–dare I say it–immersive iPhone app. We didn’t get chance to test its scariness factor for ourselves but the YouTube demo video had us mesmerized. Rob is with a mobile app development company called 1985, and the app is entitled Double You.
Double You retells the tale of Bloody Mary. (I don’t remember this one being in my camp counselors’ repertoire when I was a lad.) So while the s’mores were passed around, pre-iPhone age narrators would recount the life of murderess Mary Worth and try to conjure her back from the netherworld. The crew at 1985 have upgraded the story, using the iPhone’s accelerometer to get us to participate in this app’s virtual world.
By the way, you may get a phone call from you-know-who. You’ve been warned.

i’m so glad this app is getting coverage. Double You is probably the smartest app no one talks about.
